The 55th Anniversary of The Museum’s Establishment Kitaoji Rosanjin The Museum’s Entire Collection on Display
Date: Sat, Mar 1 - Sun, May 25, 2025
Kitaoji Rosanjin (1883-1959) is known as a ceramist and gastrologer. He had a high aesthetic sense, and was actually a notable artist, who draws attention from many people even today with his bold stories. He studied old ceramic techniques, and added his unique expressions, bold ideas and playful mind. His works include dishes to beautifully place cooked food, and flower vases and paintings to decorate dining spaces. Each of these has its own beauty and is full of his individuality.
This exhibition will display the whole of our Rosanjin collection, commemorating the 55th anniversary of the Adachi Museum’s opening. About 150 various works will be exhibited in the Rosanjin Hall, while we will use all exhibition rooms of the Annex to display other works. Our Rosanjin collection embraces a wide range of works of calligraphy, engraved calligraphy, ceramics, painting, and lacquerware. This special exhibition will give an unusual opportunity to be able to view about 500 works of our Rosanjin collection at once. We hope that you will fully enjoy the aesthetic world established by Rosanjin.
